The Omniture Summit 2008

I was lucky enough to have attended the Omniture Summit this week; it has been an amazing time with 2000 other online marketers.

Some of the Summit’s highlights include the release of SearchCenter 3.0, SiteCatalyst version 14 and the further exposure of Test&Target and Discover on Premise.

The keynotes were also very impressive from the best selling author Seth Godin to the 7-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong.

Seth talked about the foundation of the new marketing as discussed in his new book Meatball Sundae.

One thing that stuck with me was when said that “marketers usually behave like hunters, however we need to begin to nurture permission marketing and become more like farmers”.

The breakout sessions were also excellent; especially the one conducted by Nathan Walker, a corporate trainer for Omniture, ‘From Data Manager to Accountable Strategist’.

Overall the week has been excellent; met a lot of great marketers and learned so many ways in which you can maximize your analytics, campaigns and conversions. Oh, I must not forget some of the great entertainment highlighted by the Flight of the Conchords.

To the left I have updated my Flickr badge with pictures from Summit 2008.
