Keyword Suggestion Tools

I thought this would be a great topic of interest after as I have this question asked all the time; what keyword tool should I use?

As you all may know there are multiple keyword tools in the internet, but not all of them offer the quality that you need to do the job.

So, how do you select a keyword tool? It’ll all depends on what you’re going to do.

If you are working on keyword research for SEO (search engine optimization) purposes, then I would recommend using Wordtracker or KeywordDensity; these are the tools that most professional SEO’s will use.

When it comes to keyword research around PPC campaigns, I would recommend using the keyword tool provided by each search marketing vendor such Adwords or the Yahoo Search tool (aka Overture).

A good tip, if you’re just starting out and aren’t sure on what direction you should go with your keywords, is to mine your logs or review your web analytics tool. By doing this you will find keywords that users have typed to get to your site and use them as guidance to begin your keyword research.
